"Pam’s Cafe 88 at Nudgee Beach isn’t just the only cafe here - it’s the beating heart of this little seaside community. It feels like stepping into a coastal 1990s time capsule: part cafe, part milk bar, part general store. A few plastic chairs beneath a shed roof, no frills, no fuss. There’s something charmingly nostalgic about its simplicity, a refreshing antidote to Brisbane’s ever-growing fleet of hyper-curated, over-polished cafes. I ordered a coffee and a steak sandwich - my go-to benchmark for any cafe. $20 all up. The coffee was good enough to get the job done, and the sandwich was respectable; toasted just right, with a decent piece of steak and fresh, classic fillings. The cafe menu covers plenty of ground, from hearty breakfasts like the Big Breakfast ($26.95 with drink included) to a Seafood Basket for One ($18.95) and even Asian cuisine like Lemongrass Beef Salad ($22.95). It’s unassuming but surprisingly varied. Pam’s has been here for over 20 years, and it’s clear why. Locals gather here to chat over coffee, share laughs, and feel at home. A woman I spoke to who lived nearby said she’s been a regular for years and has never left disappointed. One of the staff even stopped by my table just to check in - a small, thoughtful touch that feels almost rare these days. Yes, it’s the only cafe in Nudgee Beach, and yes, it’s modest in appearance. But Pam’s offers something more: connection, genuine warmth, and a rare, unpretentious charm. It’s not really trying to impress anyone, and somehow, that’s what makes it so special."

"Absolutely the best authentic Asian homemade spring rolls and dipping sauce I've had. This hidden little cafe takeaway store catering business fast food and supermarket was a hidden gem that I accidently located while I was having a look at Nudgee Beach for the first time. They have great coffee freshly made for you to order. Good selection of teas. A menu for children vegetarian options Asian food Western food hamburgers fish and chips. Awesome place to sit and have breakfast lunch or dinner Outdoors under the verandah. They also Cater for parties weddings meetings private functions and have an excellent range of foods they're able to cook. Having been in that location for 18 years Pam's Cafe 88 has established a local clientele but also because they are so close to the Nudgee Beach reserve where there are public toilets drinking water taps where you can fill your travelling bottles with beautiful spot to stop and have a look at the ocean and see the islands out in front. There is a boat ramp. Awesome playgrounds for the children and Pam's cafe 88 is walking distance so you can enjoy a day at the Nudgee Beach and get great fish and chips to eat by the Sea while the children play on the playground. "First time today. Had the standard hamburger and the other had the steak burger with the lot. Old school! Took me back years. Absolutely delicious. Hoping for consistency with future visits. Clean and friendly service, and a lovely breeze out front to boot!"

"Good menu selection. Fridge was well stocked with drinks. The icecream fridge was well stocked. Shop is very clean and tidy. Cappuccino was very good. The man taking orders was very friendly and the wait was not too long. Headed to Nudgee Beach park to have Morning Tea."
